School of the Arts at Legacy Theater Company inspire creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. Classes are built around creative dramatics, acting, musical theatre and improvisation. Professional teaching artists lead students through engaging, interactive sessions in theater.

Broadway Babies offers classes for our youngest students in a playful introduction to performing. Students gain the ability to express themselves, build confidence, explore their imagination and develop basic social skills. Broadway Babies classes are designed to explore new material each session keeping young imaginations engaged. Students ages 2-3 can participate in a shared experience with a guardian, in our Shooting Stars classes. Students ages 3- 4 engage in creative drama and movement activities while dramatizing selections of current children’s literature in Story Starters.
Broadway Kids classes offer our 5-7 year old students a playful introduction to performing. Students gain the ability to express themselves, build confidence, explore their imagination and develop basic social skills. Students ages 5-6 explore the ground work for theatre through vocabulary and characterization while dramatizing selections of current children’s literature in Our Imagination. Spotlight introduces students ages 6-7 to scripts, improvisation, and theatre terminology preparing them for entry into the School of the Arts theater classes.
SOTA 1 classes are geared toward students who are dedicated to studying the skills and techniques of theatre in an introductory level. Students build theatre skills and techniques by moving through the levels of programming from auditions to rehearsals to a final performance of their given show. Students are given the opportunity to produce and perform in a full production while expressing themselves, building confidence, exploring their imaginations and inner voice and developing lasting relationships with peers and staff.
SOTA 2 classes are geared toward students who are dedicated to studying the skills and techniques of theatre in a more advanced stage. Students build theatre skills and techniques by moving through the levels of programming from auditions to rehearsals to a final performance of their given show. Students are given the opportunity to produce and perform in a full production while expressing themselves, building confidence, exploring their imaginations and inner voice and developing lasting relationships with peers and staff. Students are given the ability to work with sets, costumes and props. They are able to direct certain scenes with a staff member and are taught how to put on a production at a more intense level that is age appropriate for them.
